NYTimes

This interview with ex-NYTimes ombudsman Daniel Okrent is a must-read. He is remarkably candid and forthright. I wish that some of his opinions swayed some of the coverage at the Times, which is under such pressure these days and occasionally is succumbing to it (but on the whole is still the best paper in the states).

On a side note, I'm dismayed about their decision to make people pay for their columnists. $50 a year? I'll miss Krugman and Frank Rich a great deal, but not enough to pay that. Especially with Tierney and Brooks aboard. Kristof, Dowd, Herbert? Indifferent--but they certainly don't pull me towards laying down fifty bones...
