Bush could drag GOP candidates down

If these state-by-state numbers are true, Republicans in some of the reddest states are going to be hard-pressed in the '06 elections to find coat-tails to run on. Their president is unpopular and the GOP-led Congress is unpopular. Where will they turn? I think Rove's divisive comments last week illustrate what their strategy will be: Republicans are hard on terrorism and Democrats are soft. But it'll be hard to make that formulation work if Bush continues to fall in approval ratings and believability. It's gonna be interesting...
