NYTimes on Cuban Americans
I wrote a pamphlet about the changing Cuban American community more than a year ago. You can read it here (pdf). But the NYTimes, picking up a little late on the shift wrote an article today about it.
The public perception that the community is shifting worries me in more than one way. Most particularly, if the community is seen as moderate, a lot of the hardline policies that they favor could slip through under the radar. But also, if the Dems see them as a potential demographic group that could be poached with hardline rhetoric and support for hardline policies, then we have two parties pandering to them with the same BS.
